Process: Swiss Water Process (SWP)

Developed by Switzerland in 1933, the SWP takes green coffee extract (in essence: green coffee water/soup) and uses activated carbon filters that bind to the caffeine, effectively removing them. The non-caffeinated extract is introduced to fresh caffeinated beans and the caffeine from the bean subsequently leeches into the extract - resulting in your delicious decaffeinated bean.
